American singer Courtney Love has uploaded photos of herself on vacation in Wales, decades after her legendary visit to an iconic Newport concert hall.

The 57-year-old star posted pictures of herself on Instagram relaxing on a sofa and riding a horse.

She also tweeted a photo of herself walking a small dog through fields, with Welsh mountains in the background, and preceded it with a Welsh flag emoji.

The tweet, dated Thursday night, sparked a wave of online activity from fans wondering exactly where she could be and why.

However, it’s possible that she’s somewhere in the Powys given that one of the snaps also tagged a nearby musician turned dressage rider named Kate Lucy Holmes.

It’s unclear why Love is in the country but, alongside another recent photo taken at Heathrow Airport, she wrote: “I came on a growing intuition which has become a desperate emergency to get out. simulation and the lawless nightmare that is Los Angeles. “

The grunge rocker-turned-actress rose to fame in the ’90s with her band Hole, and it was after their performance at Newport’s infamous TJ’s nightclub that her partner Kurt Cobain allegedly proposed to her.

The date was Tuesday, December 10, 1991, and Cobain’s Nirvana was making a name for herself around the world with Smells Like Teen Spirit.

That night, however, he was in Newport – 8,000 miles from his home in Seattle – supporting Love and his band as they took to the Gwent stage.

Much has been said about the events of that night, with some speculating that Cobain may have asked him the question nearby.

But there are no solid testimonies from those who were there to support the story.

Concert promoter Simon Phillips, who mistakenly attempted to charge Cobain entry before realizing who he was, also previously claimed the rumor was encouraged by the late TJ’s owner John Sicolo.

“The big story is that Kurt and Courtney were almost killed that night on the old green roundabout,” Simon said in 2018.

“The group had come down in the afternoon and had done all the sound tests themselves, and [booking agent Russell Warby] was driving Kurt and Courtney in his car, and I remember he had a sky blue Skoda and they were really late.

“And Russell came in very late with Courtney and said he had just been involved in a crash on the Old Green roundabout. The car was pretty damn good.

“Later that night I saw him drive over a loader that was absolutely fucked up.”
