The 4th Belmont Park Sunday Race is the $ 150,000 Zagora Stakes for fillies and mares running a mile and a half on the turf course (Post time 1:18 pm EST).

The # 6 GO BIG BLUE NATION (3-1) is a fresh and progressing filly for Michael McCarthy. She looked good winning an optional one-mile and three-eight claim at Del Mar on July 18, and she shipped to Kentucky Downs and missed a neck in a $ 550,000 bet on September 12. John Velazquez is riding and she has shown improved tactical speed in her latest pair.

The hungry kitten No.7 (4-1) got no rhythm help in his much-needed nine panel comeback on August 25 and the winner Pocket square clicked immediately in the Athenia (G3). Shug McGaughey’s lightly run mare performed well on those long turf roads last year, including a neck loss in that race. She should advance into her second start of the year.

The No.1 Orglandes (5-2) won the red carpet (G3) at Del Mar last fall. She lost shape after that and bounced back with a second place behind her teammate. My sister Nat in the Waya (G3) on October 3, and the latter returned to finish 2nd in the BC Filly & Mare Turf (G1). She is expected to gain ground before kicking off her rally under the leadership of her winning driver Irad Ortiz Jr.

The # 3 Candy Flower (12-1) was picked up on her last by Mike Maker and looks like the target. She almost stole an entry-level affair a mile and a half in Keeneland in the spring, and she hit Belmont twice.

The # 4 Always Shopping (3-1) has what it takes to win a race like this. The three-time turf stakes winner took La Prévoyante (G3) over this distance at Gulfstream Park on January 23, but has not won in five starts since.
